

Fiori di Folia is a dance group specialized in the performance of Renaissance and Baroque dance. Under the artistic leadership of Dorothée Wortelboer the group aims at performing dances reconstructed from the original sources or carefully choreographed in one of the different styles of the eras from the late 15th to the late 18th century. Although the dancers are amateurs, they have all had intensive training in early dance. The performances may range from simple dance demonstrations for various occasions, to full-blown theatrical early dance projects together with actors, singers and instrumentalists.

Since it's founding in 1994, Fiori di Folia has been very successful with its past theatrical productions (Pavan for Philip, The Battlefield of Love and The VOC (United East India Company) dances!In 2009 the fourth theatrical production E pur si muove! was staged, which focused on Galileo Galileï and the 400th anniversary of major discoveries in astronomy.
The group frequently works together with choirs and instrumental ensembles and played a major part in the presentation of the early dance books and CDs written and produced by Dorothée Wortelboer.
